Some questions emerge through the work, in conversation, or from an encounter with a particular place, and extend beyond any single house. This is where I stay with those questions longer. The essays explore stewardship, preservation, architecture, and authorship. They consider how a home relates to the street it sits on, the city it belongs to, and the lives it holds.
